Landing the world’s largest commercial an airliner in a crosswind is no easy feat, but an Emirates cockpit team deserves kudos for a recent touchdown in Dusseldorf, Germany, following a burst of wind that thrust the A380 to the side just as it was nearing the runway. Planespotters were there to capture footage of the scene.
According to aviation website Flight Club, the Emirates widebody plane, en route from Dubai, appears to have used the entire length of the runway to decelerate upon landing.
This is not the first rollercoaster type of landing we have seen in recent months. A KLM Boeing 777 executed similar stealth maneuvers while touching down at Amsterdam Schiphol airport in strong winds back in July.
